Description

In her second collection of poetry and prose, T. Leah Fehr-Thompson takes her boundless journey of parable and verse from within to without in a provocative dissection of the human condition and the faithlessly inherent Doctrine of Apathy to which humanity has befallen; an intrinsic indifference in the wake of such atrocities as domestic violence, racial and religious prejudice, sexual persecution and poverty.  Apatheology is one poets study of the Apathetian cult and culture, as it cowers and cultivates within every blind and deaf mute who succumbs to this New World dogma.

Refute truth, deny shit, cultural wean

I saw a broken girl / trod upon and wretched / held captive in his world

defeated and lost / twisted with disappointment / and regret, we weep / we are as He is

blood spilt proves equality / shadows cast enlightenment

and I ride to nowhere with all of you / in your nameless apathy and despair / and I hide from somewhere I’d rather be

The angels’ womb heaved… / and God laughed

Sole salvation lies in a perpetual / shield of tears, and listless eyes / of a teddy bear.

this subsistence is unbearable, as I squat upon a / myriad of words and piss away my worth.
